Magma, Teseda provide IC implementation, test flow

Magma Design Automation Inc. and Teseda Corp. have validated the interface between Magma's IC implementation system with built-in design-for-test (DFT) and Teseda's OpenDFT WorkBench software. By leveraging the Magma and Teseda solution, design and test engineers can now address DFT, design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-yield (DFY) without translating and mapping data between environments. This reduces the chance of introducing errors, while at the same time increasing productivity and shortening time-to-silicon.

"As part of Teseda's OpenDFT initiative, the Teseda OpenDFT WorkBench integrates the DFT capabilities of Magma's IC implementation system with test platforms to speed DFT diagnostics and defect isolation, and increase yields as part of an enhanced DFM-DFY flow," said Steve Morris, president, CEO of Teseda.

"In our efforts to improve the turnaround time and productivity of our customers we have looked closely at ways to improve the DFT insertion and verification process during the design process," stated Dwayne Burek, director of product engineering for DFT products at Magma. "What was missing until now was a way to quickly validate and debug both the implementation as well as the test patterns. By working with Teseda, we have developed a method of ensuring that the DFT within the design can be fully leveraged. We expect the diagnostic and debug environment to become a key component of improving time-to-volume and yield management."
