Anderson Power Products has expanded its PowerMod connector line with a new high-power version that features touch-safe female housings, integral positive latches and cable strain relief. Designated as the PowerMod HP, this connector is rated for 125A at a 30C temperature rise and may be used in applications up to 175A.

The PowerMod HP connector accommodates U.S. wire gauge sizes from #6 to #2 AWG and metric wires from 16mm to 35mm. These connectors use APP's patented Sterling contact technology that offers low electrical resistance, provides a minimum of 500 mating cycles and are rated for circuit interruption (true hot-plug).

The unique latching system, with distinct blue buttons for clear identification, offers superior security and ergonomics, said the company. These connectors are IP 20 rated (touch safe) for user safety, and the integral coding key provides additional protection by allowing the user to configure unique mating of up to six individual connectors. A cable strain relief kit, which encompasses all applicable wire sizes, is available as a product option for additional reliability.

For greater design flexibility, the PowerMod HP is available in ten different connector housing types, including right angle, bus bar, panel mount and blind-mate/float selections.

The PowerMod HP connectors are priced at $5 to $19 in quantities of 1,000, depending on configuration.
