Xilinx Inc. has appointed Activemedia as its first authorized training provider (ATP) in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Activemedia will offer a broad range of international standard Xilinx programmable logic training services including IC design courses for FPGAs, CPLDs, DSP, high-speed connectivity, embedded systems, and PCI solutions.

Xilinx chose Activemedia as its ATP because of the company's strong technical training track record, its training facilities, and its experienced trainers in FPGA, DSP, HDL, and systems level design.

"In Singapore and Southeast Asia, we are seeing an increasing shift away from ASICs to PLDs because of faster time-to-market, a more flexible product lifecycle and lower total cost," said David Keefe, senior manager, global services division, Xilinx Asia-Pacific. "Local electronics design engineers now have access to world-class training to accelerate their productivity and optimize system-level benefits when they use our industry-leading programmable logic solutions."
