Hittite Microwave Corp. announced the introduction of a new family of low noise amplifiers (LNAs) for microwave radio, test and sensor applications from 7GHz to 32GHz. According to the company, the HMC516, HMC517, HMC518 and HMC519 family of GaAs PHEMT MMIC LNAs was designed to meet the needs of microwave radio designers who want a low noise front end device that can also provide enough output power to drive a mixer LO or function as a general purpose buffer amplifier. These LNAs achieve noise figures as low as 1.8dB while providing up to 21dB gain and 17dBm output power. The chips can easily be integrated into hybrid or multi-chip module assemblies due to their small size and standard I/O pinout. Samples are available from stock and can be ordered online.
