Agilent Technologies Inc. announced that Asahi Kasei Microsystems Co. Ltd (AKM), a provider of audio ICs for professional and consumer markets, has purchased multiple units of Agilent's 93000 SOC series with the audio/video 8 analog card for testing audio/video ICs. With its audio/video 8 analog card, the Agilent 93000 enables AKM to conduct true parallel, multi-site mixed-signal testing at the lowest cost for high-volume manufacturing. AKM's ICs are used for communications and consumer multimedia applications such as home audio products.

Agilent's audio/video 8 analog card features eight independent units with arbitrary waveform generator or digitizer functionality. Each unit can be easily configured for 24bit audio or 14bit video coverage as needed through a graphical user interface. The product can be used to test a wide range of devices, such as mixed-signal SOC/SIPs in cellular handsets, automotive sound systems, MP3 players and audio cards for computers.
