Freescale Semiconductor Inc. has implemented Avnet Electronics Marketing's RosettaNet's Partner Interface Processes (PIPs). The companies began exchanging design-win data nearly a year ago, and now have been able to more efficiently track designs using Freescale components.

Phil Gallagher, president of Avnet Electronics Marketing, Americas, said, "This program enables customers to get practically real-time information about the latest products from Freescale when they connect with Avnet Electronics Marketing, saving time and improving accuracy."

Traditionally, component manufacturers provide this information in a batch mode with updates done on a monthly or quarterly basis. Now, new product information from Freescale is visible at Avnet as soon as it is announced.

"Freescale's implementation of RosettaNet with Avnet has saved time and improved the quality of our data," said John Powell, global sales director at Freescale. "The system provides a simple, easy-to-use single point of data entry with highly accurate opportunity information, allowing us to better track our design wins. For our global sales force, less time managing data means they can spend more time with customers," Powell added.
