LG CNS, the information technology services unit of South Korea's LG Group, will establish an engineering center to provide product reengineering, system integration and application development for overseas customers.

LG said the new center will allow it to target U.S. and European corporations. "We aim for a sustained growth that will see us touch revenues of $30 million within five years," said Paul Jeong, chief executive officer of LG CNS.

LG CNS was founded in 1987 as a joint venture between LG and EDS. It employs over 5,800 workers across six subsidiaries, three joint ventures and branch offices in Asia, Europe and North America.

LG Group, a leader in consumer electronics sales in India, has earmarked $250 million in investments here, including a $60 million plant to manufacture wireless handsets in Pune.
