CIT launches new DIP switch lines

CIT Relay & Switch has developed two new series of DIP switches. These are the low-profile KL series with a 6.3mm height and the KJ series.

The KL switches offer several options including 2 to 12 positions, splayed or straight terminations, and an extended or recessed actuator length. An optional top tape seal is also available. The electrical rating of the new KL DIP switch series is 25mA at 24Vdc for switching and 100mA at 24Vdc for the carrying current. Electrical life is rated at 2,000 cycles. The contact resistance is >25mW initially with a dielectric strength of 500Vrms minimum. IN addition, the switches offer an actuation force of 400gf (max) and an actuator travel of 2mm. They feature gold over nickel-plated phosphor bronze contacts and gold over nickel-plated brass terminals.

The KJ series offers 2 to 12 positions with a gull wing termination as well as a choice between an extended or recessed actuator. It also offers an optional top tape seal. Electrical switching capacity for this DIP switch is 25mA at 24Vdc and 100mA at 24Vdc for the carrying current. Electrical life is typically 2,000 cycles. Contact resistance is also >25mW initially with a dielectric strength of 500Vrms minimum. The switches offer an actuation force of 600gf (max) and actuator travel of 0.90mm. They feature gold over nickel-plated beryllium copper contacts.

Applications for both series include computers, computer peripherals, telecommunications, security, test equipment, instrumentation, audio and medical products.

Prices for the KL series start at 48 cents and 53 cents for the KJ series, both in quantities of 1,000. Delivery is typically five to six weeks.
