M/A-COM, a business unit of Tyco Electronics, has recently broadened its portfolio of surface mount, high-IP3, high-isolation HMIC high-barrier mixers. The latest addition to the family, the MA4EXP400H-1277T, is designed for use in base station and infrastructure equipment.

Manufactured in a standard 3mm? FQFP-N, 16-lead (MLP) package, the new product covers the frequency band of 3.5GHz to 4.5GHz. These 50 ohm monolithic mixers require no additional components for circuit tuning, said the company.

The high-barrier, double balanced, passive mixer design produces an input IP3 in excess of 24dBm for exceptional system linearity across the frequency band at L.O. drive levels of 17dBm. The compact device also delivers exceptional LO-RF isolation, averaging better than 43dB with conversion loss values less than 8dB, added M/A-COM.
