Yamaichi Electronics introduced a new generation of high-speed connectors and cables. With the non-ZIF connectors of the HF series in connection with special YFLEX cables of the YFB series, board-to-cable connections featuring transmission speeds up to 1.1Gbps can be realizedwithout any elaborate and cost-intensive cable assembly.

The HF series is characterized by its compact design and a special push-lock mechanism to lock the flexprint in place. The special flexprint "YFLEX" which is based on a LCP insulation is adapted to the connector and ensures an integrated concept. Thanks to this special YFLEX technology, excellent high-frequency data transfer rates can be achieved and absolutely fine structures are feasible.

Different standard cable lengths and layouts are available but custom designed flex layouts and lengths can be integrated on request as well. The complete system consisting of the HF connector and the YFLEX guarantees brilliant crosstalk and EMC characteristics and an impedance of 100? (differential pair). The performance of the system with 1.1Gbps is proved in respective eye diagrams. The connectors are designed for reflow soldering and pick-and-place mounting from the tape and reel packaging.
