Transmeta Corp. has been assisted by Embedded Software Group (ESG), a provider of systems software and development tools for the embedded market, in the development and integration of Royal Linux Media Center, the software foundation of Transmeta's Linux-based fanless Digital Entertainment Center.

"Our long-standing relationship with ESG has enabled our customers to leverage the company's software expertise. Today, we are pleased to announce that our two companies have come together to demonstrate a cost-effective, fanless Efficeon-based digital entertainment center," said Arthur L. Swift, SVP of marketing for Transmeta.

"The high performance and cool operation inherent in the Efficeon processor architecture makes it ideally suited for this new breed of quiet small digital entertainment centers. ESG's expertise in open source, coupled with our experience with Transmeta processors, makes it possible for us to provide faster time-to-market for our customers -- and their customers" stated Sahel Binesh, president and CEO of ESG.
