Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) has revealed that its latest digital media processing technology is incorporated in the Kodak EasyShare-One zoom digital camera.

Claimed to be the first camera to utilize Kodak4s newest color science image processor, based on TI4s semiconductor technology running Kodak4s algorithms, the EasyShare-One camera features storage of up to 1,500 pictures, in-camera editing, WiFi e-mailing and sharing, and picture printing without using a computer. The camera also features TV-quality video with audio at 30 frames-per-second.

"TI's powerful digital media processor provides a programmable platform that allows Kodak to customize its products, bringing the multiple advanced features that matter to these groups," said Makoto Hatano, business manager for TI's digital camera solutions group.

TI says that its digital media processor family of products is optimized for digital camera applications, leveraging a highly efficient, low-power TMS320C54x DSP core, an ARM RISC processor, plus video and imaging coprocessors to improve performance.
