National Instruments (NI) announced the availability of PCI-5124, the PCI version of its 12bit, 200MS/s PXI-based digitizer.

According to NI, both the PXI-5124 and PCI-5124 digitizers use the latest commercial technology to deliver more than 75dBc spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) on two simultaneously sampled inputs with 150MHz bandwidth. Both devices are based on the company's Synchronization and Memory Core (SMC) architecture, which features up to 512MB of onboard memory per channel, fast data transfer and tight synchronization. Design and test engineers can synchronize SMC-based modular instruments within tens of picoseconds for high-channel-count and mixed-signal applications, added NI.

High resolution at fast sampling rates makes the NI 5124 digitizers suitable for a variety of measurement applications in consumer electronics, military, aerospace, semiconductor and medical device test. These products offer additional features such as software-selectable 50-ohm and 1-megohm input impedance, 4GS/s random interleaved sampling (RIS) for repetitive signals and five trigger modes including video triggering.

The press release stated that design and test engineers can use the digitizers to rapidly develop a measurement system with Express technology using NI's LabVIEW, TestStand or SignalExpress throughout the product development flow.
