Fairchild Semiconductor announced that its RMPA1959 linear RF power amplifier module (PAM) has been chosen for use in cellular handsets by Pantech & Curitel, South Korea's mobile phone manufacturer. The RMPA1959 linear RF power amplifier features 39 percent CDMA efficiency at +28 dBm average output power and a compact 4mm-by-4mm LCC package.
Tae Hyo Lee, senior member of Pantech & Curitel's R&D technical staff, said, "The device's power, linearity and compact package, backed by solid technical service and support, were major contributing factors in helping us to produce leading-edge handset designs with high confidence in their reliability and suitability for high-volume production."
According to Fairchild, the lead-free (Pb-free) RMPA1959 linear RF power amplifier meets the requirements of the joint IPC/JEDEC J-STD-020B standard and is compliant with the European Union requirements now in effect.
