Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR), maker of Bluetooth modules, announced that it will be operating on a new office in Neihu High Technology Park in Taipei, Taiwan, which will provide an in-house test-lab facility.

According to CEO John Hodgson the company will be hiring additional engineers, sales employees and customer support employees that will work on the 4,800-square-feet office.

Hodgson says that the company is optimistic of the demand in mid-range mobile handsets with Bluetooth applications this year. "We believe the attach rate for Bluetooth in mobile phones for 2005 will be around 20 to 30 percent," he adds.

One of the world's largest Bluetooth makers, CSR said that it aims to hold 47 percent of all the Bluetooth modules shipment for this year, especially after accounting for 85 percent of the market share of Bluetooth used in PC notebooks last year.

This year, CSR is also targeting total revenues of $370 million, a 48 percent jump from last year's $250 million.
