Reflecting the rosy industry in China, this year will mark a new record in the number of companies participating in the exhibits. Six hundred booths are already booked!a 30 percent increase from last year. Exhibitors are comprised of semiconductor manufacturers, component distributors, embedded software suppliers and local IC design companies that will showcase products that could possibly set technology trends this year. Aside from giant players, such as Analog Devices Inc., Intel Corp., Philips Semiconductors, Texas Instruments Inc., a lot of new companies are expected to make their presence felt, not only in the exhibit hall but in the industry as well.

A line up of forums and seminars are expected to provide key information on the current status of the industry. In Beijing and Shanghai, three summits focused on embedded systems, automotive electronics and power management are in the pipeline and will feature top executives from the industry who will talk about technology and market trends in each specific segment. Moreover, vendors and suppliers will have a variety of conference topics!ranging from handheld devices, audio/video systems, embedded systems to networking!to choose from.

As the largest electronic products export exhibition in China, the China Sourcing Fair!spearheaded by Global Sources!will allow Chinese engineers to know electronic product technology and market trends at the end-product level. This year, CSF will be held simultaneously with the IIC-China and ESC-China.

To help Chinese engineers get the latest updates about the event, EE Times-China will publish a series of preview reports in its February B and March A issues and will introduce technologies and products from exhibitors, especially in communication and consumer electronics sectors.
