ON Semiconductor Inc. has incorporated Sandwork Design Inc.'s analog and mixed-signal circuit debugging tools into the design flow of its Phoenix, Arizona design centers. ON Semiconductor is using Sandwork's tools to debug power solutions chip designs.

ON Semiconductor purchased Sandwork's SPICE Explorer, WaveView Analyzer and CDS-Link. SPICE Explorer is a transistor-level debugging environment offering pre-simulation SPICE-centric productivity resources and extensive post-simulation waveform analysis and reporting capabilities. WaveView Analyzer is a waveform analysis tool for viewing and summarizing data produced by SPICE-level and Verilog simulators. CDS-Link is a universal waveform cross-probing tool for the Cadence composer and Analog Artist environment that works with all simulators and waveform formats.

"The availability of a Spice-centric productivity solution that complements all of our fast-Spice simulation flows is an attractive step towards tightening our analog mixed-signal design turnaround time," said Jo Hamid, VP R&D and Europe R&D director at ON Semiconductor. "Beyond implementing ways to shorten simulation cycles, we have realized further time savings by providing our designers with the novel waveform analysis capabilities of WaveView Analyzer."
