Raltron Electronics Corp. has released a new series of surface-mount clock oscillators with low supply voltage and current requirements in a new 3.2-by-2.5-by-1mm ceramic package.

These new attributes for Raltron's COM1 series make them suitable for design applications requiring miniaturization and long battery life such as digital cameras, notebook PCs, hard disk drives, personal data assistants and cellphones.

The COM1 series features a standard supply voltage of 1.8Vdc. Other supply voltages of 2.5Vdc and 3.3Vdc are available. Typical supply currents are as low as 5mA maximum for lower frequencies at 1.8Vdc. The frequencies range between 1.544MHz to 60MHz with stability specifications of 25-, 50- or 100ppm. The operating temperature range is -10C to 70C.

Pricing for the COM1 at a frequency of 40MHz with 100ppm stability is 90 cents each in quantities of 10,000. Standard packaging is on tape and reel. Delivery is six weeks with samples available sooner.
