Adlink Technology Inc. released its ETX-IV266 Computer on Module (COM), which is based on the ETX form factor (95-by-144mm). According to the company, ETX COMs offer a very short time-to-market solution for OEM customers. The ETX modular concept of off-the-shelf core modules combined with custom made carrier boards reduces product development time from the onths for a full custom solution to just six weeks for an ETX based solution, said the press release.
The ETX-IV266 supports the ULV Mobile Intel Celeron CPU at 400MHz/650MHz or LV Mobile Intel Pentium III-M at 800MHz/933MHz in a ?FCBGA package (soldered on the board). Adlink added that the new ETX-IV266 is the only module on the market today in the low to medium range performance class that supports DDR based SODIMMs. The onboard 200-pin SODIMM socket supports high speed DDR266 type SODIMM memory modules and can accommodate up to 1GB.
The ETX-IV266 features VIA's CLE266 chipset, which incorporates an AGP 8X VGA controller with hardware MPEG-2 decoding; support for LVDS based flat panel displays and TV-out for PAL/NTSC; 4 USB v2.0 ports; a 10/100Base-T Ethernet port; an EIDE controller supporting both PIO and UDMA modes; two serial ports; one parallel port (SPP/ECP/EPP) shared with FDD; one PS2 keyboard/mouse interface; an AC '97 audio interface with codec; and power management functionality.
Additionally, the ETX-IV266 includes standard support for embedded features such as RS-232 console redirection, watchdog timer, CMOS EEPROM backup of BIOS settings for battery-less operation, USB boot/legacy and PXE.
Production quantities of the ETX-IV266 are now available for shipping.
