Maxim Integrated Products released a cost-effective, low-jitter, high-performance clock generator with an 8kHz reference-clock input, making it a suitable timing solution for ADSL/VDSL central-office (CO) linecards, T1/E1, T3/E3 and telecom network systems.

The new MAX9476 uses a 35.328MHz crystal and an 8kHz input reference clock to generate six identical, buffered LVTTL outputs at 35.328MHz, which are all synchronized with the 8kHz input clock. It has an integrated VCXO and can track the input reference by 100ppm. Additionally, the device provides a low-jitter 8kHz clock output that is used as a reference clock for other parts of the system. This clock generator can automatically detect the absence of the 8kHz reference and lock the output CLK to 35.328MHz with an accuracy of 25ppm.

The MAX9476 is available in a 24-pin TSSOP package, and operates from a single supply over the extended temperature range (-40C to 85C). Prices start at $6.14 (1,000-up, FOB USA).
