SoftJin Infotech, an EDA software development services firm based in Bangalore, said it would provide customized software development and building blocks to address the needs of suppliers in the design for manufacturing (DFM), design for yield (DFY) and programmable platforms products areas.

The software modules for the DFM and DFY products are set to be launched next month (April 2005).

The company's work in post-layout tool development and manipulating files in industry standard interchange formats has lead the company to develop re-usable infrastructure components which could provide a platform for DFM/DFY tool developers, said SoftJin CEO Nachiket Urdhwareshe.

The tools for post-layout manufacturability, including analysis and enhancement, layout and mask verification and mask data processing, can take advantage of scalable infrastructure, including an in-memory common layout data model and pre-built fundamental geometric operations, he added.

In November 2004, SoftJin released a suite of free IC design layout data exchange libraries and tools, including GDSII and OASIS readers, writers and translators. That suite of free tools was called Anuvad.
