Tool offers interconnectivity

During the recently held Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco, Accelerated Technology announced an application-level tool that enables high-speed communications between two or more processors running on the same chip, computer or over a network.

According to Accelerated Tech, a mentor graphics division, its nucleus Inter-processor Communications (IPC) software enables embedded developers to efficiently control their multi-core processor implementation and common real-time operating system (RTOS) application programming interface (API) across all their processors.

"The growth in complexity and increased number of processors used in Nucleus software-based applications, has resulted in the need for an efficient communication link between those applications," said Robert Day, director of marketing, Mentor Graphics Embedded Systems Division. To facilitate communication between these processors, the Nucleus IPC software works in either heterogeneous or homogeneous environments. The software offers embedded developers an easy-to-use, nine-function API, simultaneous multi-port and multi-task Inter-processor communication. Additionally, the software's zero-copy implementation provides fast throughput.

Suitable for most target applications utilizing multiple core processors, the Nucleus IPC software is especially useful in telecom, data communications and consumer electronics applications. It also works in conjunction with the scalable and robust Nucleus PLUS real-time kernel.

This new software from Accelerated Tech is licensed with source code and without royalty fees. Already available, licenses for the Nucleus IPC software start at $7,995.
