M/A-COM, a business unit of Tyco Electronics, announced that the "RFID by M/A-COM" series extended its portfolio of surface mount, I-Q modulators/de-modulators designed for RFID, handset and base station applications.

"These devices will enhance the RFID by M/A-COM series as well as our cellular product portfolio, both now feature a full family of modulators/demodulators," said Mike Napolitano, M/A-COM product manager.

The compact and highly functional MA4IQP900L-1291T and the MA4IQP900H-1291T HMICTM IQ modulator/de-modulators, using low and high barrier silicon schottky diodes respectively, complement the current MA4IQP900M-1291T medium barrier silicon device. "The low barrier MA4IQP900L-1291T device is well suited for RFID applications, offering excellent parametric repeatability, with a very small footprint," added Napolitano.

The two new IQ devices cover the 850MHz to 960MHz operating frequency range in a compact 6mm? MLP surface mount package.
