Cypress WirelessUSB used in Logitech cordless presentation controller

Cypress Semiconductor Corp. disclosed that Logitech is using the Cypress WirelessUSB radio system-on-a-chip for the Logitech cordless 2.4GHz presenter.

The WirelessUSB is based on a patent-pending, frequency-agile, direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) data transmission technique. With a transmission range of up to 10m, it can be deployed as a point-to-point or multipoint-to-point solution. Operating in the 2.4GHz global ISM band, WirelessUSB technology allows customers to deploy their solutions worldwide, regardless of regional frequency requirements.

"For the cordless 2.4GHz presenter, WirelessUSB helped us implement an aggressive development timeline and get our product to market quickly," said Ashish Arora, Logitech director of product marketing for retail pointing devices.
