Samtec Inc. has released a new high-speed cable design guide that covers data rate cable assemblies, RF cable assemblies, I/O cable assemblies and high-speed flex circuit assemblies. It also includes information on the company's Signal Integrity Division.

The new guide highlights data rate cable assemblies, including standard, high and extreme data rate assemblies featuring micro-coax and twinax cable. These cables achieve performance ranges from 400MHz to 3GHz (0.5m at 3dB insertion loss), depending on the connector type and cable configuration.

RF cable assemblies including industry standard MMCX, MCX, SMA and ganged MMCX connectors along with I/O systems are also discussed. I/O systems include D-subs and high-speed/high-density systems. High-speed flex circuits terminated with connectors, edge cared interfaces, and ZIF interfaces are also reviewed in the new guide. Custom capabilities are demonstrated for each cable system.
