Elma Electronic Inc. now offers an enhanced version of its Type 32 enclosure with a unique aesthetic appearance and reinforced metal base for EMC shielding.

The new Type 32 enhanced enclosure comes with a sheet metal base that serves as both a mounting chassis and shielding. The shielded base is also compatible with Elma's existing Type 32 enclosures. The metal base incorporates the company's patented built-in gasketing "spoons" for excellent EMC shielding.

The company has made several modifications to the chassis to improve its styling. For example, two depth extrusions now run along each side of the enclosure for a more finished look, and the "feet" of the chassis include a unique Italian design. In addition, a front bezel has been added along the front edges of the Type 32 unit to hide unsightly edges.

The Type 32 unit's material was also changed from a sinoplast to painted aluminum skins to enable the use of a wide range of custom colors. The units are available in new standard colors of charcoal and silver. Handles for the enclosure are optional.

Pricing for the Type 32 enhanced enclosure starts at less than $100 in volume orders. Delivery is from stock to two weeks.
