The new ClearSignal version from Sonarics Labs is touted to offer the industry's first DAB integrated software capable of displaying a photo album and DAB MOT slide shows on a color TFT (Active-Matrix) LCD.

Targeted at consumer electronic device manufacturers, this new functionality enables consumers to display .JPG photographs they have already recorded to a memory card on their LCDs. "No other solution offers such a comprehensive integration of products and customization," said Sonarics President and CEO Ben Gagin in a statement. "ClearSignal is designed to allow its customers fast delivery of a wide variety of novel features for car, portable, handheld radios and handsets."

ClearSignal includes the most comprehensive set of standard software decoders for multimedia, audio and video, towards a full DMB implementation, said Sonarics. Main features of the ClearSignal include a Eureka-147 DAB baseband decoder; digital decoder of analog FM; JPEG decoder; audio decoders (MPEG2, MP3, WMA and WAV); sound processing engine (Bass, Treble Equalizer and effects); peripherals controller (LCD, keyboard, tuner, removable storage and CD); graphic and database engines; customizable user interface; and an alarm clock.

The new ClearSignal version is already available. Two products based on this new technology will be launched in mid-2005 by Sonarics customers.
