DRAM chip makers Nanya Technology Corp. and Powerchip Semiconductor Corp. (PSC) are now on the same capacity production level, as Nanya catches up through the help of Inotera Memories Inc.

Last year, iSuppli reported that PSC held a 4.7 percent share in the global DRAM market, while Nanya held 4.5 percent share.

Currently, PSC manufactures 45,000 8-inch equivalent wafers per month at its 12-inch fab. Similarly, Nanya's shipment is expected to reach 40 million units this month. Inotera is producing 12-inch wafers for Nanya, with plans of increasing monthly capacity of 8-inch equivalent wafers from 30,000 units to 54,000 units by year-end.

Nanya also considers building a new 12in fab, targeting a 10 percent share in the global DRAM market. In January, the company's shipments reached 30 million units and February shipments saw 20 percent growth.
