Chinese telecom and wireless solution provider ZTE Corp. has opened a plant and research center in India to serve a growing market there.
The plant, to be situated in Manesar near Gurgaon, will occupy over 4,000 square meters and manufacture CDMA, GSM, DSL, and NGN equipment and handsets.
"ZTE has been committed to the Indian market for several years," said Zhang Renjun, vice president of the South Asian region for ZTE, in a statement. "Our new facility will provide additional local support to our valued Indian customers, enabling us to better meet their requirements and expectations."
A recent Ernst and Young study projects India's telecom network becoming the world's second largest over the next five years.
