This video filter from Fairchild Semiconductor is selectable for standard definition (SD), progressive scan (PS) or high definition (HD) standards, and offers tri-level sync and a bypass mode that permits the passing of 1080p and HDTV signals.

This highly integrated tiny (TSSOP) video filter features true 2:1 mux inputs for YPbPr or RGB inputs, and triple 6th order filters with selectable 30MHz, 15MHz or 8MHz-cutoff frequencies. It can accommodate the full range of worldwide video formats for DVD players, STBs and HDTVs.

The video filter can be used in two ways. Its most common function is as an anti-aliasing filter to remove high-frequency noise prior to A/D conversion. It can also be used as a reconstruction filter to remove high-frequency artifacts introduced during D/A conversion.
