Interconnect manufacturer ERNI Electronics Inc. is expanding its presence in Japan with the appointment of two distributors.

Takumi Shoji Co. Ltd and Tokyo Electron Device Ltd (TED) are the distributors selected by ERNI to supply the company's products and provide customer support in Japan.

"The Japanese market is very important for us. It offers an ideal mix of large and small companies in telecommunications, aerospace, railroad and industrial automation," says Andreas Scheck, chief marketing officer for ERNI. The company's sales strategy includes readily available information, samples and products, as well as direct customer contact.

"After careful research of the different technology and products available, we believed that ERNI offered the best solutions to meet the needs of the marketplace," says TED's VP Hiroshi Odani.

"ERNI has a strong range of interconnect products that have already taken numerous awards worldwide. We are delighted to bring these great products to Japan," agrees Tsutomu Matsumura, senior manager, International Division of Takumi Shoji.
