Micron Technology Inc. has claimed to be the first supplier to validate PC2-5300 modules with ATI's latest DDR2 chipset targeting mobile applications.

Micron is in production with DDR2 PC2-5300 unbuffered, dual in-line memory modules (UDIMMs) in densities ranging from 256MB to 1GB (MT4HTF3264AY-667, MT8HTF6464AY-667, and MT16HTF12864AY-667) and small outline, dual in-line memory modules (SODIMMs) in densities ranging from 256MB to 512MB (MT4HTF3264HY-667 and MT8HTF6464HY-667), supporting 4-slot desktop systems and 2-slot notebook systems, respectively.

"DDR2 adoption continues to gain momentum and Micron is ready to support the market with the broadest portfolio of validated DDR2 components and modules," said Terry Lee, executive director of Advanced Technology and strategic marketing for Micron's systems memory group.

"The high speed, high bandwidth and low power characteristics of DDR2 technology enhance the performance of today's notebook applications. Micron is pleased to be the first memory supplier to achieve validation with ATI's new Radeon Xpress 200M mobile chipset."
