Fujitsu Microelectronics, ZTE collaborate on WiMAX-compliant tech

Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte Ltd and ZTE Corp. are set to deploy WiMAX-certifiable equipment based on Fujitsu's WiMAX SoC, the MB87M3400. ZTE is telecommunications systems supplier in China.
The two companies have been collaborating to develop base station and subscriber station equipment that complies with the 802.16-2004 fixed WiMAX specifications. Fujitsu and ZTE will complete the full bring-up and implementation of ZTE's WiMAX compliant systems.
Fujitsu's WiMAX system-on-chip is a high-performance MB87M3400 SoC that incorporates the embedded processor and mixed signal technology.
Rick Wong, marketing director of system LSI products for Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia, said, "Being one of the leading WiMAX-compliant LSI vendor in this industry, we are optimistic that our flexible and cost-effective business model would enable both companies to collaborate closely on Fujitsu's WiMAX-compliant product and contribute positively to ZTE's development."
