Elma Bustronic Corp. has developed a new 2-slot AdvancedTCA (ATCA) backplane, featuring a point-to-point mesh topology that doesn't require switch cards for prototyping.
The 2-slot ATCA features a 10-layer stripline design with optimized routing. It also includes connectors for direct plugging of the company's IPM Sentry shelf manager or for wired connections to other shelf managers.
The topology is a switchless 15x Replicated Mesh with point-to-point links between the slots. However, a standard Full Mesh can also be implemented on the backplane, said the company. All Elma Bustronic ATCA backplanes are compliant to the PICMG 3.0 specification.
Pricing for the 2-slot ATCA backplane is less than $700, depending on volume and configuration requirements. Delivery is four to six weeks.
