Samsung employs Trident SVP EX into mainstream LCD TVs

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd is using Trident Technologies Inc.'s SVP EX ten-bit video processor featuring the Digital Cinema Reality Engine (DCRe) to power its latest family of mainstream LCD TVs for world-wide markets. The new models range from 23-inch to 40- inch and are now shipping in Asia, North America, and Europe.

"We are pleased that Samsung has taken full advantage of SVP EX's superior video quality and high-level of integration in its new line- up of LCD TVs. Carefully selecting a solution and investing significant R&D resources to achieve the best video quality across a wide range of products has become a clear trend for top-tier TV OEMs to reduce design time and deliver many high-quality products into the market in a timely manner," said Dr. J.H. Chang, president of Trident.

"We are very impressed by the determination and vision of Samsung's LCD TV group to successfully execute this strategy and launch such an impressive line-up of high quality LCD TVs into the market within a short period of time," Chang added.

According to Trident, the DCRe video processing delivers optimal video fidelity to offer consumers compelling, cinema-like video images.
