SiNett Corp. announced the availability of OneRunner, which they believe is the industry's first reference design platform for developing secure WLAN and Unified Access (UA) switches and WLAN appliances.

The company reports that this product is the only single-silicon platform supporting WLAN, security and traditional L2/L3 switching stacks. It comes with a comprehensive software development environment that is designed to speed porting of OEM applications. Overall, the product is designed to simplify development efforts, shorten time to market and lower system bill of material costs, while offering the highest performance available for unified enterprise network equipment.

The product is built around the company's oneedge switch processor family of silicon devices, which includes the SN5024 UA/WLAN switch and the SN6004 WLAN controller.

Two configurations are available. The OneRunner switch is a 24+4 WLAN/UA switch with Power over Ethernet (POE) support, and the OneRunner Controller is a WLAN controller with 4 gigabit interfaces. The platform comes with a PowerPC-based host processor running Linux, device drivers and complete service level APIs.

The platform also includes a software development environment with diagnostics and documentation for developing fast path agents for the on-chip MIPS processors and control plane software for the PowerPC host processor. Also included are several optimized fast path agents and demonstration versions of the industry leading software stacks for WLAN management, L2/L3 management and VPN/firewall from the company's ecosystem partners.

The OneRunner platform is available now and is priced at $25,000.
