The new PCI plug-in data acquisition (DAQ) device from National Instruments (NI) is targeted at OEMs that need to get their products to market faster and at lower costs.
According to the company, engineers can take advantage of the PCI-6010's standard 37-pin D-sub connector for I/O channel access to create custom connectivity solutions with low-cost, commonly available parts and cables. Furthermore, NI said, quantity packages are available for OEMs and other customers needing multiple units, with standard pricing 40 percent lower than their previous lowest-priced PCI DAQ devices.
The PCI-6010 extends the company's B Series multifunction DAQ devices to offer 16 channels of analog input with 16bit resolution and 200kS/s sampling rate. The board also includes 42V of overvoltage protection on analog inputs, as well as two analog output channels, 10 digital lines and two counter/timers. For I/O connectivity, the standard 37-pin D-sub connector simplifies custom connectivity and is compatible with low-cost NI standard cables and connectors.
The new PCI-6010 ships with the full suite of NI measurement services software, including tools and drivers for connecting virtual instrumentation software with NI measurement and control hardware.
