Agere Systems unveiled GigEasy, a USB 2.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter; and GigX, an ExpressCard form-factor Gigabit Ethernet Adapter.

The GigEasy turns a USB 2.0 port into a Gigabit Ethernet local area network connection. Simple to use, the product converts a USB port into a 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet port and works on any Windows 2000/XP PC equipped with a USB port. Link and Activity LEDs give a clear indication of an active link and network activity. GigEasy is housed in a small plastic housing, slightly larger than a USB memory stick and sold in a consumer clamshell package with a quick start guide and documentation compact disk.

Meanwhile, GigX enables the PC to support 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet in a compact mini-size ExpressCard compatible with the latest generation of notebook PCs featuring an ExpressCard slot. The GigX is housed in a standard ExpressCard form factor and can be inserted into the ExpressCard slot of any PC.

Both GigEasy and GigX are already available.
