SVD core generator speeds work on sensor array algorithms

A singular value decomposition (SVD) core generator has been added to AccelChip Inc.'s AccelWare advanced math tool kit. Aimed at sensor array processing, the SVD core generator should cut development time for algorithms that contain SVD matrix inversion and factorization. Moreover, the generator algorithm exploits the highly parallel structures found in fpgas and asics.

Part of the appeal of SVD algorithm is that it always produces a result, which is not the case with other matrix inversion methods.

The AccelWare family of tool kits comprises IP core generators that automatically develop hardware implementations of MATLAB tool box and built-in functions. Each generator creates multiple microarchitectures having parameters for meeting specific design requirements. AccelWare versions are available for communication, signal processing, building block, and advanced math functions.

The SVD core generator is available now as part of a AccelWare advanced math tool kit, which starts at $15,000 for a project-based license.
