Performance Technologies Inc. (PTI) disclosed that it has developed its most robust and highest capacity signaling gateway solutionthe SEGway 4300, which provides the signaling bridge to allow traditional TDM and next-generation, IP-based SS7 networks to work together seamlessly.
According to Deb Brunner-Walker, signaling product manager for PTI, their latest offering was created to meet the demands of ever-growing IP networks and new application providers. "Our field-hardened signaling software, combined with our robust hardware platform, offers the flourishing VoIP market a flexible, cost-competitive solution for next-generation networks."
The new signaling gateways use the latest Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) SIGTRAN standards to ensure reliability for demanding VoIP applications. Scalable to 96 signaling links, this new product ensures OEMs and carriers a solution that can expand to meet the demands of high-growth, SS7 circuit-based or IP networks.
The SEGway 4300 is offered in a 7U CompactPCI form factor. It offers 1024 virtual point codes and supports both circuit-switched and IP-based SS7 protocols. Beta trials for the SEGway 4300 are scheduled for July with general availability scheduled for September 2005.Related Articles | Editor's Choice |
