Logic analyzer helps debug low-powerIronwood Electronics now offers a high-performance Agilent-compatible logic analyzer to help engineers debug low-power, 0.8mm pitch SDRAMs. The new LA-BGA60C-DDRRAM-01 adapter enables memory device analysis used in cellphones, digital cameras, MP3 players and PDAs with the Agilent 16XXX logic analyzer system.

In addition to low-inductance and low-capacitance characteristics, the new logic analyzer adapter features the shortest possible trace length for maximum speed, blind and buried vias, and rigid-flex PCB design (3-mil line space) technology. This adapter is designed to interface with FBGA packages.

Consisting of two parts, the adapter's surface-mount foot is soldered to the target system board in place of the BGA60, 0.8mm pitch, 10 x 6 array, 10.5-by-10.5mm body using standard BGA soldering methods. The probe board plugs into the surface-mount base and uses a PCB with power planes to deliver all data, address, control, and clock signals to the Mictor connectors. The 512Mb mobile DDR RAM chip is surface mounted on to the male BGA adapter which plugs into the female BGA socket soldered to the probe board.

The LA-BGA60C-DDRRAM-01 adapter is priced at $1,805 in quantities of 1 to 10. Delivery is five days. Component parts are also available individually.
