Capable of supporting 65nm and 45nm technology design rules, the Sagantec Tool Set version 8 (STS8) has been used to deliver 65nm silicon, and is now being used in an early 45nm engagement.

According to the company, large data applications can now benefit from the 64bit capability of the STS8, which supports both the AMD 64bit Opteron processor and the Intel 64bit Xeon processor. STS8 enables larger design capacity, higher speeds and deep sub-micron technologies. This new version updates all of Sagantec's custom IC design products: SiClone, SiFix, Companion and Anaconda.

"The ultimate proof of the value of STS8 is that there is working 65nm silicon that has been designed with these tools," said Hillel Ofek, Sagantec's president and COO. "These advanced technology capabilities can now utilize the power of standard 64bit architectures and improved integration based on an open, community-driven, industry supported platform."
