Saelig Co. Inc. now offers Euroquartz's new EQ157 series of ultra-miniature crystals that provide a 32.768kHz output for real-time clock applications. These devices are housed in surface-mount packages measuring 3.2-by-1.2-by-0.95mm, making them suitable for battery-powered and handheld equipment.

Designed to provide the smallest possible component size for real-time clock applications, the devices feature a low mass, rugged construction and a nominal frequency of 32.7680kHz with a calibration tolerance of 20ppm at 25C.

Other key specifications include a maximum drive level of 1?W, a load capacitance (CL) of 12.5pF or 7pF, an equivalent series resistance of 65 kiloohms, a temperature coefficient of -0.035/ C&deup; (parabolic), and a shunt capacitance of 1.7pF typical. Aging is 5ppm maximum in the first year at 25C with an operating temperature range from -40C to 85C. The storage temperature range is -55C to 125C.

Pricing for the X-cut EQ157 series crystals is $1.55 each in quantities of 100.
