International Manufacturing Services Inc. (IMS) now offers a competitively priced, high-ohmic value resistor due to the use of an innovative, high-volume thickfilm printing process that eliminates the typical high cost associated with individually-produced devices of this type, according to the company.

The new HCC 2010 resistor offers 45 gigaohms of resistance at a tolerance of 10 percent on an alumina substrate. The company said the high-ohmic value is achieved through the use of an innovative serpentine topology. The resistors are suitable for high-precision applications such as test and measurement instrumentation, sensors, and controls.

Pricing for the new product is $1.90 in quantities of 1,000.
