Developed for building computer systems based on AdvancedMC modules, SBS Technologies Inc. has launched its first AdvancedMC standalone 2U 19-inch rackmount chassis at SuperComm 2005 early this month. The new AMC-7S-CHASSIS is compliant with AMC.0 and AMC.1, Revision 1.

Key features include hot swap capability, an AdvancedMC single-board-computer slot and seven additional AdvancedMC peripheral slots that connect to the single-board computer through a PCI Express switch. These slots can be populated with any SBS Telum AdvancedMC I/O modules, which include a variety of LAN, WAN, storage, and video cards. Together, these components create a complete high performance, modular and space-efficient computer.

Designed for configuration flexibility, the AMC-7S AdvancedMC slots can be configured to meet a variety of application requirements. The chassis' backplane supports an x8 PCI Express/AdvancedMC processor slot, five x4 PCI Express/AdvancedMC slots and two x2 PCI Express/AdvancedMC slots. The chassis slots are single wide in a mix of full and half height sizes.

Pricing for the AMC-7S-CHASSIS AdvancedMC standalone chassis is $1,440.
