Vishay Siliconix says its five new p-channel load switches are the industry's first such devices designed to offer low on-resistance (RDS)!as little as 45 milliohms!at a 1.5V gate drive. Thus, they're suited to ASICs applications, which operate at core supply voltages between 1.5V and 1.65V, and according to the company are the first such devices with guaranteed turn-on characteristics below 1.8V without the need for level-shifting circuitry.

The five power MOSFETs include two devices in the company's Little Foot family of TSOP-6 devices!the Si3499DV rated at -8V (RDS = 45 milliohms) and the Si3495DV rated at -20V (RDS = 47 milliohms). The other devices are the -8V Si8419DB (Micro Foot), the si5499dc (1206-8 ChipFET) and the si1499dh (SC-70 package).

Data sheets can be found at (and /73135/73135.pdf, 73138/73138.pdf, 73321/73321.pdf, and 73310/73310.pdf). Samples and production quantities of the new load switches are available now, with lead times of 12 weeks for larger orders. Pricing for U.S. delivery in 100,000-piece quantities starts at 25 cents.
