Kyocera Wireless Corp. and Cypress Solutions have joined together to create Cypress Chameleon CTM 132 using Kyocera 200 module. The Kyocera-enabled Chameleon CTM 132 combines CDMA technology with GPS and Internet capabilities for a rugged industrial cellular modem that allows data communication on virtually any cdma network.

The Chameleon CTM 132 is an industrial data modem designed to support Mobile IP, thereby maintaining the same IP address across different network areas and carrier networks.

The Kyocera 200 Module is designed to enable M2M and telemetry applications such as vehicle location, SCADA, asset tracking, remote metering or security, wireless vending, exception reporting and wireless point-of-sale terminals. The module is equipped with tri-mode capability (including AMPS), A-GPS position location capability and support for IS-2000 data rates.

Rand Effron, manager M2M module sales, Kyocera Wireless, commented, "By enabling a fixed mobile IP address, we can offer flexible communication configurations that provide M2M applications and designs previously not possible without expensive work-arounds and additional signaling."
