Keywords:dc-dc converter? micro power direct? b1000erw? module?

The single and dual output dc-dc converters in MicroPower Direct's B1000ERW series, an addition to the company's Budget Saver family, are promoted as the lowest cost 10W modules of their type. Priced at from $9.75 to $10.40 each in quantities of 100, these 1-by-2 inch converters, in eighteen models, provide 5, 12, 15, and 5, 12 and 15V from a 9-18, 18V to 36V, or 36V to 75V input.

Features include a line regulation of better than 0.2 percent, load regulation of 0.5 percent (positive output) and 5 percent (negative output), and maximum ripple and noise of 50mV pp. Transient response is typically 200?s for a 25 percent load change and a return to within 2 percent of nominal output voltage.

Operating efficiency is as high as 86 percent. Input-to-output isolation is 1,500Vdc. The converters' MTBF is greater than 1 million hours as tested per MIL HDBK 217F. These converters are specified for operation over -40C to 71C with no derating or heat sinking required. Cooling is by free-air convection.
