TI announces new high accuracy, voltage reference family

Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) announced REF32xx, a 4ppm/C temperature drift, high accuracy, voltage reference family from its Burr-Brown product line.

The REF32xx features high output current of 10mA and is stable with any capacitive load. To increase precision, this device uses force and sense pins that allow 4-wire "Kelvin" connection measurement to effectively eliminate the impact of contact and trace resistance. Other features include low quiescent current of 100?A, with a maximum quiescent current over temperature of 135?A. Typically, TI added, the quiescent current changes less than 2?A over the entire supply range.

The REF32xx can be operated from as low as 1mV from the desired output level under the normal load conditions. When in shut down, the output goes to a high-impedance state and current is reduced to 1?A.

All models in this product family are specified for the industrial temperature range of -40C to 125C, and offer low temperature drift. Target applications include portable and battery-operated devices, medical and test equipment, as well as data acquisition systems.

The REF32xx is housed in the micro-size SOT23-6 package and has a suggested resale price of $1.70 in 1,000-piece quantities.
