Amps tailored for wave digital radio, satellite ground terminal apps

TriQuint Semiconductor Inc. released six new amplifiers for millimeter wave digital radio and satellite ground terminal applications.

Four of the new products are high performance power amplifiers (TGA4513-CP, TGA4509-SM, TGA4902-SM and TGA4510-SM), and comprise both output stage and driver devices ideally suited for use in 27GHz to 31GHz transmit chains utilized in point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and VSAT radio applications. The fifth and sixth devices, operating in the 17GHz to 27GHz band, are a power amplifier (TGA4502-SM) and low noise amplifier (TGA4506-SM), respectively.

All the devicesin high performance, low parasitic packagesare also physically small, which allows direct integration with other electronic circuitry elements, minimizing performance impact. All these new devices come in Pb-free, RoHS-compliant packages, offering customers environmentally friendly products with substantial cost and assembly advantages.

"Our new products expand TriQuint's packaged parts portfolio and give designers the advantages of easier, quicker assembly and considerable cost savings," commented Product Marketing Manager Mike Tessaro. "The VSAT and multi-point radio markets are highly competitive and we believe these new parts give designers the advantages they need to build aggressively priced, high quality products."

All of the new amplifiers are fabricated using TriQuint's MMW pHEMT processes. Demonstration boards are also available.
